On Friday, 23 August 2013, at night at around 23:00, in Lazdijų district municipality, Giraitės village, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Aprilia Rally 50 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Aprilia, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
