On Saturday, 7 September 2013, at night at around 23:00, in Kaunas, on A. Juozapavičiaus pr., at the junction with Skuodo street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Colt and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
