On Thursday, 12 September 2013, at night at 4:15, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 68), a DAF FT XF105.460 hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the DAF (28 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
