On Friday, 13 September 2013, in the evening at 19:46, in Marijampolės municipality, on Vilkaviškio street, at the junction with Atgimimo street, a Yamaha XV 1700 registered in Russia hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 20-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Yamaha (a citizen of Russia) (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
