On Monday, 16 September 2013, in the evening at 17:40, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 2, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 323 and a Skoda Yeti. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Mazda, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when changing direction. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
