On Saturday, 21 September 2013, in the afternoon at 11:50, in Šilutės district municipality, on Cintjoniškių street near No. 11, at a yard or parking-lot exit, an Opel Omega hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 84-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober.
