On Monday, 23 September 2013, in the morning at 5:23, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Papyvesiai–Krinčinas–Gulbinėnai regional road (kilometre 13.26), a Renault Laguna registered in France ran off the road. Two people were injured — a 39-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized) and a 41-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Renault (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.24‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
