On Wednesday, 25 September 2013, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Babriškės–Varėna–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 44), an Audi 80 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
