On Friday, 27 September 2013, in the evening at 17:28, in Jonavos district municipality, Gegutės village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 44.80), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant and a Peugeot 806. Three people were injured — the 53-year-old driver of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 23-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 86-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Audi (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
