On Wednesday, 25 September 2013, in the evening at around 19:00, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Kiti keliai local road (kilometre 2.10), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Renault 19. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (0.99‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
