On Monday, 7 October 2013, in the evening at around 18:00, in Utenos district municipality, Atkočiškių village, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 51), a Scania R 480 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 62-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Scania (13 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
