On Saturday, 12 October 2013, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on Kapų street, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Rekord and a Ford Escort. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 75-year-old driver of the Opel (52 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
