On Sunday, 13 October 2013, in the evening at 19:02, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 52.40), a Peugeot 206 CC rolled over. Three people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Peugeot (hospitalized), a 49-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 29-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Peugeot (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.06‰ blood alcohol). A 29-year-old passenger of the Peugeot was drunk (2.04‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
