On Monday, 14 October 2013, in the evening at 17:20, in Vilnius, on L. Asanavičiūtės street, at the junction with Rolando Jankausko street, a Citroen Xantia hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 55-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Citroen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. A 55-year-old pedestrian was drunk (2.62‰). A 50-year-old passenger of the Citroen was drunk (1.59‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
