On Sunday, 27 October 2013, in the evening at 21:30, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 30.25), an Audi 100 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 48-year-old pedestrian, who committed other traffic rule violations and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (1.45‰ blood alcohol). Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
