On Sunday, 27 October 2013, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 114.10), a BMW 530 D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
