On Wednesday, 6 November 2013, in the evening at 19:20, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 105.60), a Toyota Celica ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.04‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
