On Saturday, 9 November 2013, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Šiaurės pr., at the junction with V. Landsbergio-Žemkalnio street, a KIA Motors Carnival hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 71-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
