On Thursday, 14 November 2013, in the morning at 7:30, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 103.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz C200 and an Opel Combo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.34‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
