On Tuesday, 12 November 2013, in the afternoon at 12:17, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 51), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz C200 and a Volvo FH12. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk (2.15‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
