On Sunday, 17 November 2013, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 40.30), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Honda Accord registered in Belarus and an Audi 80. One person died — a 81-year-old passenger of the Audi. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Honda (a citizen of Belarus) (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
