On Friday, 29 November 2013, at night at 2:49, in Vilnius, on Saulėtekio al., at the junction with Plytinės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E350 and a Rover 620. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to give way when changing direction and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.29‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
