On Friday, 29 November 2013, in the morning at 7:50, in Kaunas, on Kuršių street, at the junction with Jotvingių street, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 22-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
