On Saturday, 30 November 2013, in the afternoon at 12:20, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Birželio 23-iosios street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318 and a Renault Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to obey traffic-control signals, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
