On Wednesday, 4 December 2013, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Čekonys–Debeikiai–Žalioji regional road (kilometre 5.05), a Citroen Berlingo hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 51-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
