On Thursday, 5 December 2013, in the morning at 10:20, in Druskininkų municipality, on M.K.Čiurlionio street, at the junction with Šv. Jokūbo street, a Mitsubishi Galant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 46-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (23 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
