On Thursday, 5 December 2013, at night at 3:10, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 21.15), a MAZ registered in Belarus ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the MAZ (a citizen of Belarus) (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
