On Sunday, 8 December 2013, in the evening at 19:05, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių pl., at the junction with Vandžiogalos street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania R420 registered in Latvia, a Krone SDP27 registered in Latvia and a Volvo V70. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Latvia) (33 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. The 28-year-old driver of the Volvo had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
