On Sunday, 8 December 2013, in the evening at around 21:00, in Klaipėda, on Kretingos street, at the junction with Girininkijos street, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 15-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
