On Sunday, 22 December 2013, in the evening at around 21:00, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 7.80), a Mazda 626 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
