On Monday, 23 December 2013, in the morning at around 7:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 34.50), a Scania R 124 LA hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Belarus) (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
