On Monday, 23 December 2013, in the evening at 17:55, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 129.70), a Subaru Legacy hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Subaru (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.46‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
