On Thursday, 2 January 2014, in the evening at around 18:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 33.50), a Subaru Legacy hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Subaru (13 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
