On Saturday, 11 January 2014, in the evening at around 17:00, in Panevėžys, on Staniūnų street near No. 89, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 and an Audi 80 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
