On Saturday, 11 January 2014, in the evening at 20:27, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr. near No. 100, an Audi A6 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 48-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by a 48-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
