On Sunday, 12 January 2014, in the morning at 9:30, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 118.59), a Peugeot 406 registered in Belarus rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Peugeot (a citizen of Belarus) (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
