On Tuesday, 11 February 2014, in the evening at 19:20, in Kaunas, on Žeimenos street near No. 107, a Renault Megane Coupe hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 67-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Renault (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
