On Sunday, 9 March 2014, in the morning at 6:30, in Lazdijų district municipality, Grabaukos village, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 32.15), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and a KIA Motors Carnival. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
