On Friday, 4 April 2014, in the evening at 17:18, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Ariogala–Raseiniai–Kryžkalnis national road (kilometre 42.73), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and an Opel Corsa. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
