On Tuesday, 8 April 2014, in the morning at 10:44, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 100), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH 42T registered in Poland, an Opel Astra and a Krone SD registered in Poland. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Poland) (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
