On Wednesday, 9 April 2014, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 87.50), a Scania R420LB ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Latvia) (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed.
