On Monday, 21 April 2014, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Toliejai–Šnieriškės–Labanoras regional road (kilometre 12.50), a Ford Mondeo rolled over. One person died — a 31-year-old passenger of the Ford. Three people were injured — a 32-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient), a 36-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 30-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.73‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. A 32-year-old passenger of the Ford was drunk (1.78‰). A 30-year-old passenger of the Ford was drunk (2.33‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
