On Wednesday, 28 May 2014, in the evening at around 21:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Paukščiai–Krivonys–Neprėkšta regional road (kilometre 7), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Terrano and a Hyundai Terracan. One person was injured — the 45-year-old driver of the Hyundai (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
