On Monday, 23 June 2014, in the morning at around 6:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on M. K. Čiurlionio street near No. 11, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Renault Master. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to give way when changing direction and failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
