On Monday, 23 June 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on Vytauto street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Transporter (23 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
