On Saturday, 5 July 2014, in the afternoon at 11:05, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 57.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Hyundai Santa FE and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — a 35-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 3-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Hyundai (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
