On Sunday, 20 July 2014, in the afternoon at 14:27, in Mažeikių district municipality, Kurmaičių village, on Kurmaičių Sodo 1-oji street, at the junction with Putinų 1-oji street, a Yamaha XVS 1100 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Yamaha, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.16‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
