On Sunday, 20 July 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Prienų district municipality, Ignacavos village, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 34.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mitsubishi Carisma and a Toyota Yaris. Two people were injured — a 51-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and the 52-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
