On Wednesday, 6 August 2014, in the evening at around 20:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 259.10), a Renault Thalia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Renault (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
