On Saturday, 9 August 2014, in the evening at 18:35, in Lazdijų district municipality, Lazdijų village, on the Lazdijai–Galiniai regional road (kilometre 2.67), a Volkswagen Golf rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (3.60‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
